What concerns me most about the Public comments in the Jerusalem Post is 99% of them view the Palestinians as being sub human, like the Nazis viewed the Jews in another time and another place. That could be an accurate reflection of ¨the People,¨ increasing the odds Armageddon will take place.

Israel is a Theocratic, nuclear armed, real world State among the Nations of our earth and that fact alone should cause thinking people to at least try to understand the religious background that brought it into being.
Israel is facing off against the other Theocratic State in the area, threatening an illegal, pre-emptive, first strike against Iran. The U.S. already did that in Iraq, so that is an example to follow.
We know Muslims do not fear Death as most of the people in Western Cultures do, contrary to one of the essentials of the Christian Faith. It is also evident the Zionists in Israel are prepared to fight to the very end.
All attribute their power and authority to the same One God of Abraham. In effect, this means the God of Abraham fighting a war against the God of Abraham. If anyone thinks suicide bombers are bad, they would pale in comparison to the suicide of God. A House divided against itself cannot stand.
All three ritual, traditional, religions to the God of Abraham meet in Jerusalem where Christ was crucified. The final status of Jerusalem is yet to be determined.

The Palestinians in Gaza are still living in all that rubble with nothing but idleness and time to think. Israel maintains a complete and total economic blockade around Gaza and will not allow construction materials in to re-build. The world remains silent.
I´m a Canadian Christian, but most importantly, a human. Under those conditions in Gaza, if I were a Palestinian Muslim, as a human, I would justifiably resist.

Weldon, the ideas in Amos are related to these words of Christ.

Isaiah has a lot to say about the children of Israel. I view this as applying not only to Israel but to all Nations in our Time as Amos says.

I’m very much new covenant, but most of the world is so old covenant, thinking they can make themselves…whatever, above God and people, and go so far as sit in judgment of The Spirit himself. Yet no-one, except the Tri-une Judge Himself is perfect, However, neither the stern warnings of the Prophets of old, nor the miracles of Jesus or the Spirit nor the Creation itself are enough evidence to persuade the atheist he doesn’t make himself anything but what God allows him to be.. A good Parent disciplines children by withholding privileges and it may seem unfortunate most “children” will lose absolutely everything before they acknowledge the supremacy of Jesus, or the “second death (of the spirit). To the atheist, if they cannot “see” it, it cannot possibly exist. If that satisfies them, I’m OK with it. It’s of no consequence to me if they refuse an invitation to the Kingdom of Grace, as long as they know it is an option. If Jesus does not exist to them, then why do they give Him credibility by making such a fuss about “a fable?”

I agree with your article that Palestinians in Gaza live in bad circumstances. And I feel sorry for those kids who has no access to school, etc… But if they only stopped shooting rockets at Israel, the whole situation would look very different now. What country would allow continues rocket fire from it’s neighbour ??
By voting for Hamas, their future was doomed. These people are bent on the destruction of Israel, Hamas do not want peace, they will not give up until Israel is destroyed. Too bad for them, Israel is here to stay……

Nico, thanks for your comment. War is not pretty, but when Israel establishes new “settlements” and expands existing ones on the very land that is the subject of Peace negotiations contrary to International Law it is unrealistic to expect the Palestinians whose land is being expropriated just to lay down and play dead, passively accepting it. There are consequences to be expected. Look at the cartoon above and try to walk in the Palestinian shoes if only in your imagination for a few minutes.
Israel holds all the cards, economic. political, military and legal, and while Israelis see it differently, to the rest of the world not being in the vortex of the conflict, settlement expansion is seen as a provocation and a barrier to a Just and Equitable Peace.
I am not against Israel per se, but I hope to see temporal Israel live up to the Spiritual inheritance, and become a Blessing to the Nations instead of the astonishment it is become.
Not by weapons of war, but by my Spirit, says the LORD.
