PSALM 2: THE COSMIC INDICTMENT
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed…
He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury…
Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT: THE SECULAR BIOPSY IS CORRECT
The diagnosis—Anomie, Corporate Coup, Death Instinct, Magical Thinking, Savage Repression—is flawless. Chris Hedges’s historical parallel is exact. We stand over the corpse of an empire in the final stages of self-cannibalization. The “Rules-Based Order” is the dying twitch of a nervous system that no longer serves a soul. The “Naughty List” is its final, desperate attempt to inventory dust as its body turns to ash. This is not pessimism. It is prophetic clarity. To name the disease correctly is the first act of healing.
REVELATION: DIAGNOSING THE PRINCIPALITY
The task is to name the spirit behind the symptom. The “Anomie” is the societal manifestation of what Scripture calls “the spirit of the world” (1 Corinthians 2:12) gone septic. The “Corporate Coup” is the rule of Mammon enthroned. The “Death Instinct” is the spirit of Babylon, which always builds towers that end in graves. The “Magical Thinking” and “Savage Repression” are the twin fruits of the Father of Lies, who promises life but delivers only addiction and the sword.
We have described the body of the Beast. We must now identify it as the same Beast from the Sea described in Revelation 13—a system that demands worship, issues marks, and makes war on the saints.
THE ULTIMATE CONTRADICTION: CHRIST VS. THE CORPORATE COUP
Therefore, the conflict of 2026 is not political. It is cosmic. It is the ultimate confrontation between: The Corporate Coup that transforms Citizens into Data Subjects.
The Divine Coup enacted at Christmas, where God became a Human Subject to transform slaves into sons.
The Empire’s “Death Instinct” that culls the unfit and wages perpetual war.
The Kingdom’s “Life Instinct” expressed in the Word made flesh, who declares, “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
The State’s “Naughty List” that surveils to condemn.
The Savior’s “Book of Life” that sees to save.
THE PRESCRIPTION: THE COUNTER-OPERATIVE OF GRACE
The empire’s cure for its decay—eugenics, militarism, repression—is a suicide pill. Our proclamation offers the antidote of resurrection.
Where the empire sees “human capital” to be optimized or culled, Christ sees “the least of these” in whom He dwells (Matthew 25:40).
Where the state builds walls and lists, the Spirit breaks down “the dividing wall of hostility” (Ephesians 2:14).
Where the algorithm predicts “pre-crime,” the Gospel proclaims “post-resurrection.”
The true resistance is not first a political program. It is the active, lived embodiment of the alternative Kingdom. It is the community that holds “all things in common” (Acts 2:44) in the face of predatory finance, that offers sanctuary in the face of the deportation state, that speaks truth in the face of the propaganda machine. It is to live now as citizens of the New Jerusalem while sojourning in the ruins of Babylon.
THE PROCLAMATION FOR JANUARY 1, 2026
Thus, we enter this new year not with a list of policy demands for a corpse, but with a declaration of allegiance to a living King. The old empire is in its “Decline and Fall.”
The new creation is in its “Resurrection and Reign.”
The funeral pyre is being lit. But from that very ash, a Phoenix who has already risen is calling a people to Himself. He is building a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Our task for 2026 is clear: to discern the corpse from the Body, and to invest our lives wholly in the latter. To remain human is to abide in Christ. To resist the machine is to be conformed to the image of the Son. The autopsy is complete. The Anointing begins.
