LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL

Praying to the god of this world

Neil Barofsky, the former regulator tasked with policing banker bailouts in the Bush administration’s Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) told talk show host Bill Moyers another major banking crash is now “inevitable” because neither of the political parties have the stomach to end “too big to fail.”

I trust what this man is saying, and I admire his honesty and integrity. He tells us how it is on the inside with the big money players and government. He was frustrated in trying to do the job he was hired to do when so many government officials were telling him not to rock the boat in taking his job too seriously.

“This was the government policy created by the architects, Ben Bernanke who is chair of Federal Reserve, Tim Geithner, who was then the president of the New York Fed before becoming Treasury Secretary, and Hank Paulson,” he explained, describing the Bush administration’s actions during the 2008 economic crisis. “Their solution originally was to further concentrate the industry, to make the too big to fail banks bigger.”

That’s a policy the Obama administration has mostly continued, placing only modest limits on the debt load financial institutions are allowed carry, but neglecting broader reforms like restoring the long-standing firewall between checking and savings accounts and the big banks’ more risky ventures on Wall Street.

It’s not as if there isn’t some support for restoring that firewall either, which effectively lets banks risk their investors’ money while keeping deposits safe from major swings in the markets. It used to be the law, but that law was repealed during the Clinton administration, in legislation created with the help of former Citigroup CEO Sanford I. Weill. In the wake of the crisis, however, Weill admitted in July that the time has come to restore the division between investment and consumer banking, which would essentially ban the “financial supermarket” model he created that’s led to institutions becoming “too big to fail.”

Barofsky added that the consolidation of over-leveraged banks like Merrill Lynch into somewhat more healthy institutions like Bank of America ultimately put the markets on a more dangerous path than the nation’s top financial regulators realize. That’s because “you have institutions now that are just monstrous in size, over $2 trillion in assets by certain measures, close to $4 trillion by other measures,” he said, calling the reality in today’s markets “terrifying.”

“The idea that any of these institutions could ever be allowed to fail is pure fantasy, at this point,” Barofsky lamented.

That’s when Moyers cut right to the chase: “Are you suggesting that we could have another crash?”

“I think it’s inevitable,” he replied.

On a scale of significance and importance to the Future well being of America and the World, this report and Testimony of Mr. Barofsky should be the #1 issue in this election campaign and shouted from the rooftops!

Watching from CanaDa, this American election is an exercise in Fraud, deception and manipulation. It doesn’t really matter who wins the Presidency. For those who think Romney can turn things around in less time than Obama had, think again! Hard Times are ahead.

Mr. Barofsky confirms what most people already suspected. “The rich bankers will sell their souls for a few points of profit.” Jesus chased them out of the Jewish Temple, saying the House of My Father is a House of Prayer for ALL NATIONS and you have made it a Den of thieves. Is there anything new under the Sun?

This honest realism of Mr. Barofshy with his inside experience is so refreshing to see in this election campaign of lies and misleading half-truths. The mainline news media don’t have any Integrity left in investigating and reporting the Truth in my opinion.

And Judgment is turned away backward, and Justice stands afar off:
for TRUTH is fallen in the street, and EQUITY cannot enter.
Yea, Truth fails; and he that departs from evil makes himself a

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

GENERAL/PRESIDENT DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER – The Last Real Commander-In-Chief

Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander WWII and President of the United States reached the dual pinnacles of earthly power as a Military Commander and President.

Very few people have had that kind of experience in their lifetimes. He saw first hand how underlings and other people vied for influence with him, ass-kissing and brown nosing their way to the top.

It is now 50 years since he delivered his farewell Military-Industrial Complex speech to the American People. It is only with the benefit of hindsight can we see the Wisdom of his experience and the Truthful Spirituality in his Prophetic admonitions.

The Unites States is now the biggest supplier of weapons of mass destruction to the world, and spends more than 6 times on Defence annually than the closest world rival, China. Chins is spending about $120 Billion on Defence compared to the US spending over $800 Billion

The thrust of that speech was to warn against the rising influence of Lobbyists he experienced 1st hand.

We have ignored that wise council, and Lobbyists for special interests have proliferated to the extent that the interests of the common people and common good take a back seat to the special interests that spent almost $4,000,000,000 in 2010 to influence government and the People’s Representatives to frame Laws that benefit those Corporate concerns.

We are now experiencing the negative consequences he warned would be the result of too much influence by special interest groups in the councils of government.

Congress opens with a prayer every day of Business. Those prayers from the lips will do no good. Reading General/President Eisenhower’s speech everyday might produce better results for the People and their Representatives.

From President Eisenhower’s 1953 ‘Cross of Iron’ speech in the clip above.

The link to the whole speech – Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

President Eisenhower’s January 17, 1961 Military-Industrial Complex speech on Retiring,

My fellow Americans:

Three days from now, after half a century in the service of our country, I shall lay down the responsibilities of office as, in traditional and solemn ceremony, the authority of the Presidency is vested in my successor.

This evening I come to you with a message of leave-taking and farewell, and to share a few final thoughts with you, my countrymen.

Like every other citizen, I wish the new President, and all who will labor with him, Godspeed. I pray that the coming years will be blessed with peace and prosperity for all.

Our people expect their President and the Congress to find essential agreement on issues of great moment, the wise resolution of which will better shape the future of the Nation.

My own relations with the Congress, which began on a remote and tenuous basis when, long ago, a member of the Senate appointed me to West Point, have since ranged to the intimate during the war and immediate post-war period, and, finally, to the mutually interdependent during these past eight years.

In this final relationship, the Congress and the Administration have, on most vital issues, cooperated well, to serve the national good rather than mere partisanship, and so have assured that the business of the Nation should go forward. So, my official relationship with the Congress ends in a feeling, on my part, of gratitude that we have been able to do so much together.

II.

We now stand ten years past the midpoint of a century that has witnessed four major wars among great nations. Three of these involved our own country. Despite these holocausts America is today the strongest, the most influential and most productive nation in the world. Understandably proud of this pre-eminence, we yet realize that America’s leadership and prestige depend, not merely upon our unmatched material progress, riches and military strength, but on how we use our power in the interests of world peace and human betterment.

III.

Throughout America’s adventure in free government, our basic purposes have been to keep the peace; to foster progress in human achievement, and to enhance liberty, dignity and integrity among people and among nations. To strive for less would be unworthy of a free and religious people. Any failure traceable to arrogance, or our lack of comprehension or readiness to sacrifice would inflict upon us grievous hurt both at home and abroad.

Progress toward these noble goals is persistently threatened by the conflict now engulfing the world. It commands our whole attention, absorbs our very beings. We face a hostile ideology — global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose, and insidious in method. Unhappily the danger is poses promises to be of indefinite duration. To meet it successfully, there is called for, not so much the emotional and transitory sacrifices of crisis, but rather those which enable us to carry forward steadily, surely, and without complaint the burdens of a prolonged and complex struggle — with liberty the stake. Only thus shall we remain, despite every provocation, on our charted course toward permanent peace and human betterment.

Crises there will continue to be. In meeting them, whether foreign or domestic, great or small, there is a recurring temptation to feel that some spectacular and costly action could become the miraculous solution to all current difficulties. A huge increase in newer elements of our defense; development of unrealistic programs to cure every ill in agriculture; a dramatic expansion in basic and applied research — these and many other possibilities, each possibly promising in itself, may be suggested as the only way to the road we wish to travel.

But each proposal must be weighed in the light of a broader consideration: the need to maintain balance in and among national programs — balance between the private and the public economy, balance between cost and hoped for advantage — balance between the clearly necessary and the comfortably desirable; balance between our essential requirements as a nation and the duties imposed by the nation upon the individual; balance between actions of the moment and the national welfare of the future. Good judgment seeks balance and progress; lack of it eventually finds imbalance and frustration.

The record of many decades stands as proof that our people and their government have, in the main, understood these truths and have responded to them well, in the face of stress and threat. But threats, new in kind or degree, constantly arise. I mention two only.

IV.

A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction.

Our military organization today bears little relation to that known by any of my predecessors in peacetime, or indeed by the fighting men of World War II or Korea.

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientifictechnological elite.

It is the task of statesmanship to mould, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system — ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.

V.

Another factor in maintaining balance involves the element of time. As we peer into society’s future, we — you and I, and our government — must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow.

VI.

Down the long lane of the history yet to be written America knows that this world of ours, ever growing smaller, must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect.

Such a confederation must be one of equals. The weakest must come to the conference table with the same confidence as do we, protected as we are by our moral, economic, and military strength. That table, though scarred by many past frustrations, cannot be abandoned for the certain agony of the battlefield.

Disarmament, with mutual honor and confidence, is a continuing imperative. Together we must learn how to compose differences, not with arms, but with intellect and decent purpose. Because this need is so sharp and apparent I confess that I lay down my official responsibilities in this field with a definite sense of disappointment. As one who has witnessed the horror and the lingering sadness of war — as one who knows that another war could utterly destroy this civilization which has been so slowly and painfully built over thousands of years — I wish I could say tonight that a lasting peace is in sight.

Happily, I can say that war has been avoided. Steady progress toward our ultimate goal has been made. But, so much remains to be done. As a private citizen, I shall never cease to do what little I can to help the world advance along that road.

VII.

So — in this my last good night to you as your President — I thank you for the many opportunities you have given me for public service in war and peace. I trust that in that service you find some things worthy; as for the rest of it, I know you will find ways to improve performance in the future.

You and I — my fellow citizens — need to be strong in our faith that all nations, under God, will reach the goal of peace with justice. May we be ever unswerving in devotion to principle, confident but humble with power, diligent in pursuit of the Nation’s great goals.

To all the peoples of the world, I once more give expression to America’s prayerful and continuing aspiration:

We pray that peoples of all faiths, all races, all nations, may have their great human needs satisfied; that those now denied opportunity shall come to enjoy it to the full; that all who yearn for freedom may experience its spiritual blessings; that those who have freedom will understand, also, its heavy responsibilities; that all who are insensitive to the needs of others will learn charity; that the scourges of poverty, disease and ignorance will be made to disappear from the earth, and that, in the goodness of time, all peoples will come to live together in a peace guaranteed by the binding force of mutual respect and love.

From this video as it appeared on TV that night, we can see how the technology has improved from then to now. We can also see how the Imperial Presidency has grown.

For Now we have Faith, Hope and Love, but the Greatest of these is Love.

ELECTIONS, POLITICS, POWER, RELIGION, FREEDOM OF CHOICE

US or UN

It boggles my mind as a Canadian, Donald Trump is the front runner for the Republican Party south of our border. Is there anyone who can trump Trump?

Watching from CanaDa, the vitriol and base language developing in America that leads to destruction saddens me. My impression is the Republicans are a front for the self-proclaimed, self-righteous, Christian Right wanting to see their Christian Vision take hold in America and are willing to impose it on the population as they work to make it happen behind the scenes, surreptitiously. We can see evidence of the trend with the new Republican Governors unilaterally, by Executive Authority, abrogating long held Democratic rights of workers and voters.

This is a recipe for an eventual violent insurrection of the various and competing Patriot Groups of Minutemen and other Militias throughout the US standing on guard for the Republic who have been accumulating caches of weapons, training to fight in the Day when Government steps on the Rights of Free Americans. More and more Americans are seeing the Signs that Day is near. Will there be Canadians standing on Guard for CanaDa in that Day so we are not caught up in the violence?

In my view, that is a real contradiction in terms because the Love of God cannot be imposed on anyone. God is looking for Human Lovers on earth who Love God for God’s Love, not God’s Power. God is willing to share Power with all the people who have The Right Stuff within them which is Christ. Everyone in the Human Race is invited to try out and qualify even if others choose not to participate.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
To him that overcomes will I grant to SIT WITH ME in my throne, even as I also overcame, and AM set down with my Father in his throne.
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 3:20:22

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I AM, there YOU MAY BE ALSO.               John 14:2-3

As soon as any Human genuinely and sincerely sets their heart and thoughts on the Way to finding God and Christ above the things of this world, Christ starts preparing that place.

But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who SHALL BE heirs of salvation.                                                                        Hebrews 1:13-14

Now if Trump is the front runner for the Republican Party, and only “Good Christians” can be President, why does Trump openly advocate breaking the 10 Commandments and the Christian Right is left silent on the issue or cheering him on?

You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour. (including oil)

Trump covets that oil, there is no doubt about that, firmly established in the Public Record. The Christian Right must be made to answer that with the same insistence Trump demanded the President’s Birth Certificate. Now he wants him to produce his University Grades. Obama graduated Suma Cum Laude, with the highest honours, which goes way beyond any notion of affirmative action.

There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that if you just legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, that their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous their prosperity will find its way up and through every class that rests upon it. Speech by William Jennings Bryan on July 9, 1896,

It is 115 years later and the same debate is still being argued and not resolved yet.

Trump thinks he can dictate to the Arab States who own the oil under their ground, the way God designed it to be, while in the US, laws are still being framed to ensure the rich get richer, and the poor poorer.

Does Trump have a plan to stop US Corporations from raising the  prices within the US for the Citizens at the bottom levels of the economic pyramid, and increasingly becoming beyond their ability to pay? Are only American Capitalists allowed to raise prices?

When John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ,  I was not offended because it was an objective Truth and reality looking at the whole world. Anyone who loves God loves Truth.

American Christians were so offended by that statement of objective Truth, like the Nazis did with Books, the American Christians burned Beatle Albums. In my view, John was saying to self-proclaimed most Christian America, if you were Truly doing the works of God, the Beatles would not be more popular than Jesus Christ.

It’s in the Public Record. When such a smart Black man occupied The White House, The Republicans declared in Public, their only goal is to destroy Obama’s Presidency and they have been working toward that goal ever since.

I was so impressed when I witnesses via TV, the President of the un-United States say, “If we followed Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, we would have to disband the Department of Defence.” That statement is an Objective Truth, and from that speech, I took note the Christian Right twisted those words, having those who hate him already to hate him even more by saying he perverts the Bible and was against it.

The majority of the atheistic Nation take no note of this Christian power struggle while it is in their self interest to pay attention because it is going on behind closed doors.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.                                                        Ephesians 6:12
