This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.
It was in the days of my youth in 1960, when Kennedy was President, the Prime Minister of Canada, John Diefenbaker, introduced this preamble to the Canadian Bill of Rights.
I am not always conscious of this ideal, but in retrospect, as I just turned 67, (now living my 80th year) I now realize it has been my internal auto pilot governing how I conduct myself, and how I deal with others.
I think this Canadian ideal of Liberty is totally consonant with America´s highest ideals.
I suppose that´s why Americans don´t know much about Canada, your closest neighbour and friend. We don´t cause you problems like the other countries you do know about do. Canada is your most secure source of oil in the world, and we haven´t rocked your boat, even with the Great Lakes between us. We have been at your side when it mattered.
The American Declaration of Independence from the bad, old ways things were done embodies the very same ideal contained in the opening paragraph:
´WE hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.´
What has this got to do with the American Liberty Bell and all it symbolizes? There is a big difference between espousing high ideals and practising what you preach. The Liberty Bell rings hollow in proclaiming Liberty throughout the land when the early wealth of a Nation is built on the backs and labour of slaves. That is why the crack is there.
I believe, as a Canadian and objective observer, President Obama is beginning the attempt to repair that crack between people. Obviously, being a prisoner of The White House, it is up to WE, The People, to actually do it, whatever is necessary.
I was upwardly mobile in the business world in 1975 when I experienced a Spiritual awakening as powerful and unexpected as the conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus. At 30, I sold all my possessions, and with a back pack on my back, headed into the Unites States to discover the Spirit of ´76.
For part of that 14 month experience I spent time in Tempe, at Arizona State University. I joined with the Cardinal Newman Centre, the just off Campus Roman Catholic church. The Centre itself was a new, one level, L shaped building, built around the old church well over 100 years old at the corner. It was unsafe to use for worship. but it had a BIG Bell in the Bell Tower. Every Day, someone was assigned to ring that Bell by a long rope about 4 inches thick in diameter.
The Priest would let me read the scriptures during services, but as often as I asked, he would not let me ring the Bell. One Day, to my great joy, the priest gave me the key to the old church and told me to ring the Bell and call the Faithful to Worship.
Being my first time in the old church, the Bell looked so high up in the tower as I grabbed hold of the long rope.
Starting slowly, I started to get into it and pulled the rope as I prayed to the Angel of the Bell.
With every fibre of my being, with all my vibrations, praying/thinking to the Angel, I thought, ¨Lord, let the sound of this Bell rise above the noise and the din of the city traffic. Let the sound of the Bell rise above all the petty hatreds, squabbles, conflicts, jealousies, crime and violence. Lord, let this Bell proclaim Liberty throughout all the Land!¨ I was really getting into it.
The priest came running over in a panic. His hands were covering his ears as he shouted, “Stop it! Stop it! You´re ringing that Bell too loud.¨ They never let me ring the Bell again.

‘THE KING’S TERRIFYING NIGHTMARE.’
The polarization that is being entrenched in American society and Politics these days was foretold long ago in the Book of Daniel written during the captivity of Babylon 2600 years ago.
The King of Babylon had a terrible nightmare that left him shaken to the bone. Fear spread to everyone in his Court. He called in all his Cabinet Secretaries and Ministers, Advisers, Experts, Consultants and Academics to tell him the dream which he forgot.
No one could tell him what is was, and he ordered all the wise men in Babylon to be executed. He reasoned he could not have had such a terrible nightmare unless he was being given bad advice.
That same spirit showed itself again in Cambodia America was secretly bombing, during the Vietnam War.
Pol Pol came out of that vacuum the US bombing opened, and executed all the so called smart people, known as the Intelligentsia Today.
There is no mistaking in the US Today, a large segment of the Population display that anti-Intellectual spirit in it’s early stages.
Daniel, a Jew of the Captivity and recognized as being a “Dissolver of Doubts,” was able to get a stay of execution while he prayed to his God to have the dream revealed to him. It was.
What this World needs is more People like Daniel, Dissolvers of Doubts.
Daniel told the king,
You, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form of it was terrible.
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
You, O king, are a king of kings: for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
And where ever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven has he given into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all.You are this head of gold.
AFTER you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things: and as iron that breaks all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
And whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the STRENGTH OF IRON, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be PARTLY STRONG, and PARTLY BROKEN.
And whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Daniel 2
No doubt the king was relieved, having all his doubts dissolved, and pleased in hearing this interpretation of a dream he did not remember.
In my view, the feet and toes of this vision describe The Un-United States, the latest face of Imperial Babylon-Imperial Rome, with the strong as iron military force bombing and breaking in pieces so many parts of the world, trying to subdue it, and the widening Republican/Democratic divide among the People.
This is exactly how Americans are behaving with each other and the world at this juncture of history
While I take no pleasure in the thought, I see all the circumstances coming together in the near Future that will cause a stream of Americans to seek Refugee Status in CanaDa to escape American style, Home Grown Crazy Terrorism. There will be guns a plenty going off.
IF Americans don’t smarten up, and fast, ‘The American Dream’ will turn into The American Nightmare.
The Mass media have the greatest Power to set the Nation on the right Path. They have the unique Power to effect the thinking and feelings of MILLIONS of People at the same Time.
Most of us might be able to affect 1, 2, or 3 people in our immediate environment. We have no control over what others think.
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

It is now 39 years since the global political atmospheres of the time were so poisoned, it appeared the US and the Soviets were heading for a clash for the 1st time since the 1962 Cuban Missile crisis. They were shouting at each other in Public, and the temper was escalating!
Being in the unique position of being able to stand Face to Face and talk with Prime Minister Trudeau or hand him letters without any intermediaries as he entered or left the House of Commons the last 7 years he held power, I urged him to undertake his Global Peace Mission and I was glad he did.
This is the link to a CBC report from that Time. Then, CanaDa acted as and was perceived by other Nations as an Honest Broker and Peace Maker in this world. These days, Canada is ready to jump into any of America’s Imperialistic wars without question by the Public.
Prime Minister Trudeau was the 1st Western Democratic Leader to break with the US policy of isolation and non-recognition of China. Facing the Reality of over 1 BILLION people, Trudeau visited China 20 years earlier, in 1963, and started Diplomatic relations. The whole world followed CanaDa’s example, and the rest is History.
With no real change or thaw in the atmospheres 2 years later, I was moved to make this Public Declaration on Remembrance Day, 1985, in the hearing of the Governor-General of Canada, the Prime Minister, other government Leaders, the Military Brass, the Ambassadors of the Nations, and the estimated 25,000 People in attendance.
The Spirit of these words were added after the moment of silence, after all the Establishment religions prayed to God there should be no more war, during the silence as the wreaths were laid. Everybody in person heard these deliberately slow spoken words:
“Hear O people and Nations, even to the ends of the Earth, the Word of the LORD God, who is, and was, and is to come, The Almighty.
The LORD has a controversy with the people.
Do you do well to honour the dead, and yet, deny the God of the Living?
Why do you follow the vain traditions of men, and make of no effect, the Principles of God?
You come here for one hour, one day a year, in a great show of Public Patriotism, and then forgetting, go back to work and make the same careless mistakes made by the generations prior to the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
“Hostage” was the last word said perched on a bus shelter roof, as police got up and grabbed the megaphone. I was arrested for shouting, causing a disturbance, convicted and fined $250. I appealed without a lawyer to The Supreme Court of Canada.
The opening reference to “the LORD God, who is, and was, and is to come, The Almighty” comes from the Revelation of Jesus Christ described in 16: 13-16;
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (false beliefs about God in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Atheism) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth (Billionaires, Presidents, Prime Ministers, CEOs and other Idols of the People) and of the whole world, (the rest of us) to gather them to the Battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. (when you least expect it) Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue ARMAGEDDON.
ARMAGEDDON was derived from Har Megiddo located in OCCUPIED Palestine when Jesus walked the land 2000 years ago. Israel disappeared some 720 years before that until it was recreated from the Bible in 1948. ARMAGEDDON/Har Megiddo still exists as a physical place in OCCUPIED Palestine now unfolding in the current Israeli-Gaza WAR
For those who do have the eyes to see, it’s taken 39 years, but with the current US WAR with Russia over Ukraine in NATO, this Material World is being held HOSTAGE to the American-Russian Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex like never before, including the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
The media reporting and recording the news for posterity, no Member of Parliament, Lawyer, Civic action group, or any media recognized the imperative to protest such blatant un-Democratic action by the State, and the conviction stands.
Appealing the conviction of “shouting, causing a disturbance” for the prophetic action on Remembrance Day 1985, the matter was pursued to the Supreme Court of Canada. I was pleased to see the same three Justices, including Chief Justice Antonio Lamer, who heard another application the previous year, presiding over the Leave to Appeal. The rules allow fifteen minutes for the “viva voche” or “live voice” hearing, in addition to submitted documentation.
The documentation included a previous Supreme Court ruling no one can be convicted of ‘shouting, causing a disturbance’ unless an actual disturbance akin to a riot occurred, not just because the authorities were upset.
No such disturbance happened or the Justices would have already known about it. That would have been reported Nation wide. The MSM did not even report it the next Day, but waited until the conviction, 2 months after the incident.
Referring to the trial transcripts, a Justice said , “Mr. Cormier, the Court can’t go by the transcripts.” I replied, “I agree with your Lordships that you can’t go by the transcripts.
If your Lordships recall the matter brought before The Court last year, the trial Judge in that case said, “You are not a lawyer! You are not a lawyer! You can’t argue in my Court! You can ask questions, but you can’t argue in my Court!”
For those words only, I summoned up all the hype and bluster I could muster to duplicate the trial Judge’s behavior, wagging my finger at the Supreme Court Justices. Returning to a normal calm demeanour, continued, “Your Lordships! Those words weren’t even in the transcripts, let alone the viva voche hearing of them.”
This would have been grounds for a mistrial. Judgment was reserved, but the Court would not hear the case. The action signalled the Supreme Court may be presiding over a house of cards.
This is not obvious now, but will affect the population as the economic and political conditions deteriorate. It is evident the global economy may be entering the time to allow this to happen, and who knows what the World situation will be in the next few years? While most people are not conscious of it or even understand what it means, the Reality is, we are living in the Common Era of Christ, the Year 2011.
Either the people will be in sync with the Time or they will fall behind. Does anyone really know what Time it is?
