‘Execution-Style Killings’ in Gaza: Forensic Doctor Exposes Israeli Forces’ Murder of Aid Workers’

With the Israeli Genocide in Gaza that would not be happening without US complicity and facilitation, the Truth must be known. Because the US is complicit with the Genocide, the American People have the greater responsibility to pressure their government to stop participating with the great evil of Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes and the massacre of women and children in Gaza.

Forensic consultant says multiple bullets were used from short range in attack that has caused global outrage. Israel expanded aerial and ground attacks in Gaza since ending the ceasefire. Benjamin Netanyahu said it intends to divide up the territory

A forensic doctor who examined the bodies of some of the 15 paramedics and Palestinian rescue workers shot dead by Israeli forces and buried in a mass grave in southern Gaza has said there is evidence of execution-style killing, based on the “specific and intentional” location of shots at close range.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the Palestinian Civil Defense and UN employees were on a humanitarian mission to collect dead and wounded civilians outside the southern city of Rafah on the morning of 23 March when they were killed and then buried in the sand by a bulldozer alongside their flattened vehicles, according to the UN.

Israel has expanded its aerial and ground attacks in Gaza since ending the ceasefire last month. The prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Wednesday it intends to “divide up” the territory.

The killing of the paramedics and rescue workers has triggered outrage around the world and demands for accountability. On Wednesday, the UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, said Gaza was the deadliest place on Earth for humanitarian workers.

“Recent aid worker deaths are a stark reminder. Those responsible must be held accountable,” Lammy said.

Ahmad Dhaher, a forensic consultant who examined five of the dead at Nasser hospital in Khan Younis after they had been exhumed, said all of them had died from bullet wounds. “All cases had been shot with multiple bullets, except for one, which could not be determined due to the body being mutilated by animals like dogs, leaving it almost as just a skeleton,” Dhaher told the Guardian.

“Preliminary analysis suggests they were executed, not from a distant range, since the locations of the bullet wounds were specific and intentional,” he said. “One observation is that the bullets were aimed at one person’s head, another at their heart, and a third person had been shot with six or seven bullets in the torso.”

He emphasised that there was room for uncertainty due to the decomposition of the remains, and that in other cases he reviewed “most of the bullets targeted the joints, such as the shoulder, elbow, ankle, or wrist”.

Two witnesses to the recovery of the bodies told the Guardian on Tuesday that they had seen bodies the hands and legs of which had been tied, suggesting they had been detained before their deaths. A Red Crescent spokesperson, Nebal Farsakh, said on Wednesday that one of the paramedics “had his hands tied together with his legs to his body”.

Dhaher said there was no clear evidence of restraints on the five bodies he examined. “I could not recognise any tying marks on their hands due to the state of decomposition of the five cases I checked, so I can’t be sure of it,” he said.

The Israel Defense Forces and Benjamin Netanyahu’s government have said IDF soldiers opened fire on the ambulances and rescue vehicles because they were “advancing suspiciously toward IDF troops without headlights or emergency signals”. Government officials claimed to have killed a Hamas military operative they named as Mohammad Amin Ibrahim Shubaki, and “eight other terrorists” from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, in the attack on 23 March.

However, Shubaki was not among the bodies recovered from the mass grave outside Rafah on Saturday and Sunday, eight of which were identified as Red Crescent ambulance workers, six as civil defence rescue workers, and one as an employee of the UN relief agency Unrwa. The IDF has not responded to questions about why the dead were buried with their vehicles or to reports that some showed signs of having been tied up.

The sole survivor from the shootings on 23 March, Munther Abed, a Red Crescent volunteer, contradicted the official Israeli account, saying the ambulances had been observing safety protocols when they were attacked.

“During day and at night, it’s the same: external and internal lights are on. Everything tells you it’s an ambulance that belongs to the Palestinian Red Crescent. All the lights were on until we came under direct fire,” Abed told The World at One on BBC Radio 4. He denied that anyone from a militant group was in the ambulance.

Abed, who was in the first ambulance to come under fire in the early morning of 23 March, said he survived because he threw himself to the floor at the back of the vehicle when the shooting started. The two paramedics in the front seats of the ambulance were killed in the hail of Israeli gunfire. Abed was detained and interrogated by Israeli soldiers before being released.

The other 13 victims were all in a five-vehicle convoy dispatched some hours later to recover the bodies of the two dead ambulance workers. All of them were shot dead and buried in the same grave.

Guardian investigation published in February found that more than 1,000 medical staff had been killed across Gaza from the beginning of the conflict on 7 October 2023 – triggered by a Hamas attack on southern Israel that killed 1,200 Israelis – until the beginning of a temporary ceasefire in January. Many hospitals have been reduced to ruins in attacks that a UN Human Rights Council commission concluded amounted to war crimes.

Since ending the two-month ceasefire last month, Israel has vowed to step up its military campaign against Hamas. On Wednesday the defence minister, Israel Katz, said that campaign was expanding to “seize extensive territory” in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu said Israel intended to build a new security corridor as it was “dividing up the Strip”.

Hospital officials in the occupied Palestinian territory said Israeli strikes overnight and on Wednesday had killed at least 40 people, nearly a dozen of them children.

What We Know About the Case of Gaza Aid Workers Killed by Israeli Gunfire

The Israeli military, confronted with video evidence contradicting its initial account, now says it was “mistaken.”

The Israeli military has acknowledged flaws in its initial accounts of its troops’ involvement in the killing last month of 15 people in southern Gaza who the United Nations said were all paramedics and rescue workers.

The admission came on Saturday, the day after a video obtained by The New York Times appeared to contradict a key part of the military’s earlier version of events. While the military had said it fired on the vehicles after they “advanced suspiciously,” the video showed clearly marked ambulances and a fire truck.

The episode has drawn international scrutiny and condemnation. After the blatant inconsistencies in the Israeli account were revealed, the military seemed to move more quickly than usual to address the issue. Internal military inquiries into questionable deadly episodes can drag on for months, even years.

Here’s what we know so far:

In its initial statements after the bodies were discovered, the military insisted its troops had opened fire as a convoy approached them in the dark “without headlights or emergency signals.”

But the video — discovered on the cellphone of a paramedic who was found in a mass grave — shows that the ambulances and fire truck had emergency lights on as Israeli forces unleashed their barrage.

The military now says the initial account from forces on the ground was “mistaken.”

Military officials had previously asserted that nine of those killed were operatives of Hamas or Islamic Jihad. They had named only one of the nine and provided no evidence for their claim.

On Saturday, a military official who briefed reporters on the initial findings of an internal inquiry said at least six of the 15 were Hamas operatives but still did not provide evidence. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity under army rules.

Before the encounter with the emergency vehicles, the official said, reserve forces from an infantry brigade had been lying in ambush along a road to the north of the Gazan city of Rafah before dawn on March 23. At 4 a.m., they killed what the official described as two Hamas security personnel and detained a third.

Two hours later, as dawn was breaking, the emergency convoy approached the same spot. When the rescue workers began to leave their vehicles, the official said, the Israeli forces believed that they were Hamas operatives heading for them and opened fire from afar.

Amos Harel, a military affairs analyst for the left-leaning newspaper Haaretz, said in an interview that the soldiers had “good reason to be anxious” and that it would be wrong to assume immediately that the case was one of “murder in cold blood,” citing Hamas fighters’ frequent use of civilian infrastructure as cover.

But the episode raises questions, Mr. Harel said, about the soldiers’ conduct and the version of events they reported from the ground.

The military official denied reports that some of the bodies were found bound and shot at close range. He said that the troops had buried the bodies to shield them from wild animals and used heavy equipment to move the disabled vehicles off the road, mangling them.

Palestine Red Crescent Society representatives said last week that ambulances had set out around 3:30 a.m. on March 23 to evacuate Palestinian civilians wounded by Israeli shelling.

The Red Crescent said that an ambulance and its crew had been hit by Israeli forces and that several more ambulances and a fire truck headed to the scene over the next few hours to rescue them. A U.N. vehicle was also sent, the United Nations said.

Seventeen people were dispatched in total, of whom 10 were Red Crescent workers, six were emergency responders from Gaza’s civil defense service and one was a U.N. worker.

It took days to negotiate access to retrieve the 15 bodies. The Red Crescent said that one medic was still missing and that one had been detained by Israeli forces and later released.

The Red Crescent said Israel’s “targeting” of its medics should be “considered a war crime” and demanded an investigation. It added that the latest killings brought to 27 the number of its members killed during the war, which started on Oct. 7, 2023, with a deadly Hamas-led attack on southern Israel.

On Friday, the president of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, told reporters that, based on autopsies and forensic evidence, the emergency workers had been “targeted from a very close range.”

The case has received broader coverage in Israel since the exposure of the video. Politicians have mostly remained silent, perhaps waiting for the military to complete its inquiry.

Mr. Harel, the military affairs analyst, said the inquiry was a first test for the recently installed military chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, regarding the military’s international standing.

And the larger question of accountability remains. Yesh Din, an Israeli human rights organization, found last year that of 573 cases of suspected war crimes in Gaza examined over the past decade by the army, only one led to prosecution.

TEMPLE MOUNT AND THE BATTLE OF THE GREAT DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY

The Gold Dome is the most immediately identifiable image dominating the skyline of Jerusalem. It has stood there for 1300 years, longer in TIME than both the 1st and 2nd Jewish Temples.

There is a growing movement of Jewish activist-extremists who want to see the Dome destroyed, and a 3rd Jewish Temple built in it’s place, restoring the Levite Priesthood with the animal blood sacrifice of sheep and goats in atonement for sin.

The fundamental of Messianic Christianity is God’s requirement of animal sacrifice by Jews in the Temple, ended when Christ Jesus, by offering his own body as a LIVING SACRIFICE, fulfilled that requirement ONCE, for ALL TIME, and for ALL HUMANITY.

‘The Temple Mount is a powder keg, and arsonists have the upper hand’ This is no accidental fire. This was (and still is) an arson job. But who are the suspects? this morning’s headline reports in Israel’s Haaretz newspaper.

Jerusalem is up in arms again. As violence spreads from the capital to other parts of Israel, it seems the question isn’t so much whether the country is teetering on the brink of an intifada, but how the upsurge should be characterized.

Some are calling it “the Firecracker Intifada,” in honor of the firecrackers that Palestinian protesters are hurling at the police. Others are going simply with “the third intifada,” though many disagree with that moniker. In any case, the term “Silent Intifada,” previously used to describe the violence in Jerusalem, hardly seems appropriate now.

At the center of this craziness stands the Temple Mount, or Haram al-Sharif, as it is known to Muslims. The Temple Mount is the holiest site for Judaism and the third holiest for Islam. It’s one of the most sensitive religious sites in the world — a massive powder keg, if you will.

Now that this powder keg looks to be on the verge of exploding, note that this was no accidental fire. This was (and still is) an arson job.

The immediate suspects, as many observers have pointed out, are the Israeli right-wing politicians challenging the decades-old status quo on the Temple Mount, over which the Muslim Waqf trust has retained religious control since Israel took over East Jerusalem in 1967. The right-wingers are insisting that Jews be allowed to pray there; they include Knesset members like Likud’s Miri Regev and Moshe Feiglin.

These two, Housing Minister Uri Ariel and others have been key to the incredible resurgence of the Jewish Temple Mount movement in recent years, a resurgence that led to rumors that Israel sought to change the delicate status quo.

Last week Feiglin visited the site yet again, despite warnings by the police. Others like another Likud MK, Tzipi Hotovely, expressed wishes to follow suit despite charges they were fanning the flames.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon admonished them; in an interview with Channel 10, Ya’alon admitted that the current violence had at least been partly stoked by ministers and MKs who defiantly visited the Temple Mount.

If Lieberman and Ya’alon have to tell you you’ve gone too far, you can be pretty sure you’ve gone too far.

It’s not for nothing that Lieberman and Ya’alon, not to mention Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin and much of Israel’s security apparatus, appear so agitated over the mount these days.

Over the years, maintaining the status quo there by prohibiting Jewish prayer was critical to preventing an all-out religious war. The status quo wasn’t perfect by any means, but it allowed a delicate balance between the national and the religious.

That balance is now eroding fast.

Tension since 1929

The history of the Temple Mount is, of course, fraught with conflict. For many years, extremists — both Jews and Arabs — have battled over, or against the backdrop of, this tempestuous holy site.

In 1929, 133 Jews were killed by Arabs partly motivated by rumors of a planned Jewish takeover of the mount. In 1996, riots broke out there following Netanyahu’s decision to open the Western Wall tunnels — a decision that again led to rumors of an imminent threat to Islamic control of the site. Seventeen Israeli soldiers and more than 100 Palestinians died, and scores were wounded.

In the 1980s, the Jewish underground, a terrorist organization formed by members of the right-wing movement Gush Emunim, almost blew up the mosques on the mount, including the Dome of the Rock. The idea was to further a messianic redemption that would culminate with the construction of a Third Temple.

In September 2000, Ariel Sharon (then opposition leader) made a high-profile visit to the mount. The day after, riots broke out there following Friday prayers, launching the second intifada.

But now, at the outset of what may or may not be a third intifada, something is different. It’s not the violence as much as the way the events are being framed.

For the most part, the movement to regain Jewish control of the Temple Mount has been limited to extremists. Sharon’s 2000 visit, for example, was seen as a dangerous provocation. Until a few years ago, any talk of change at the Temple Mount was a surefire sign of religious madness, the stuff of eccentrics and the certifiably insane.

Not anymore. These days there appears to be a wider acceptance for a Jewish Temple Mount, tracking Israel’s right-wing shift and the erosion of its resistance to messianic rhetoric.

The movement, still a minority movement, has gained mainstream recognition in recent years and won influential supporters in the Knesset. Regev, chairwoman of the Knesset Interior Committee, has chaired no fewer than 15 debates on the subject in the past year alone, hounding police officials for their “cowardly” response to the harassment of Jewish visitors to the mount.

Outlandish no more

Two weeks ago, hours before right-wing activist Yehuda Glick was shot by East Jerusalemite Mutaz Hijazi, Regev reminisced how she initially thought the Temple Mount movement was “outlandish” — before she was ultimately convinced.

Glick, now in recovery, was, as my colleague Anshel Pfeffer has pointed out, key to the mainstreaming of the Temple Mount movement. An affable, red-bearded oddity, Glick — who went on a 53-day hunger strike last year after being barred from the mount — often befriended ideological rivals and depicted his struggle as a pure freedom-of-religion issue. By portraying the issue as a civil-rights debate, he played a key role in the massive PR resurgence of the Temple Mount movement.

Glick’s affability aside, the proliferation of Israeli visits to the mount and the growing conversation about the site — much aided by opportunistic Hamas propaganda — helped increase tensions and led to the formation of local groups like al-Murabitun, self-proclaimed guardians of the site against the rumored “Jewish takeover.” The clashes that followed led to the violence we’re seeing now.

The vast majority of Israelis and Palestinians, of course, don’t want a religious war. Israel’s foremost religious authorities, among them Sephardi Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, have reiterated their stance against Jewish visits to the mount. The vast majority of Israelis have never visited the place and probably have no intention of doing so. Most Palestinians, meanwhile, have more pressing material concerns.

Unfortunately for those people, it seems there are plenty of arsonists among us. And right now they seem to be enjoying the upper hand.

O JerusalemBehold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say to you, You shall not see me, until the time come when you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

Luke 13:35

Glick and his ilk want to move Israel backward, not forward, in wanting to re-instate animal blood sacrifice for sin, denying Christ who sacrificed his living body for all sin, once and for all.

The Messianic Settlers, their spiritual leaders and advisors, who have taken over Likud and the government, ignore the words of the Prophets at Israel’s peril.

Hear the word of the Lord, O rulers of Sodom; give ear to the law of our God, O people of Gomorrah!
Of what use are your many sacrifices to Me? says the Lord. I am sated with the burnt-offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle; and the blood of bulls and sheep and hegoats I do not want.
When you come to appear before Me, who requested this of you, to trample My courts?
You shall no longer bring vain meal-offerings, it is smoke of abomination to Me; New Moons and Sabbaths, calling convocations, I cannot [bear] iniquity with assembly.

Thus says the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that you build for me? and where is the place of my rest?
For all those things have my hand made, and those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

God is Great

This solid earth is physically moving through space around the sun at a rate of some 100,000km every hour, while rotating on it’s axis around 1675km/hour. Do you feel it? Do you sense it?

Why should it be such a great leap to believe in an invisible God who becomes visible to those who believe by Faith and look for God?

Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

John 20

In addition to the rising tensions over the Temple Mount, the following Haaretz reports detail some of the usual Israeli humiliation and provocation of the Palestinians in the 47 year Israeli Military Dictatorship in the occupied territories separate from Gaza.

Ten torched mosques, zero indictments Since June 2011, 10 mosques in Israel and the West Bank have been set on fire by presumed right-wing Jewish extremists. No charges have been filed.

When the Israeli FBI, Shin Bet, can find and kill a Palestinian suspect in hours, I can only imagine how frustrated and suffocated the Palestinians must feel with such double standards in police work and results.

‘Police failing to investigate Jewish hate crimes in West Bank, says NGO’

Some 92 percent of complaints filed by Palestinians are closed and the criminal never found, according to a report by the Yesh Din human rights group, which has been tracking 1,045 complaints filed through the organization since 2005.

The list of complaints includes shooting attacks, assault, stone-throwing, arson, cutting down trees, animal abuse, crop theft, construction on Palestinian-owned land, threats and attacks. All the actions mentioned in the complaints were committed by Israeli citizens.

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.(false beliefs about God in Judaism, Christianity & Islam. Written some 500 years before Islam, the 3rd arm from the Jewish religious record appeared)

For they are the spirits of DEVILS, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth ( 1%, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Senators, CEOs, and other Idols of the People) and of the whole world, (the rest of Humanity) to gather them to the Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty. (the war is already underway Today between Judaism, Christianity and Islam, leading to the climax of that Great Day)

Behold, I come as a thief. (when you least expect it)

Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Revelation 16:13-16

Armageddon was derived from Har Megiddo, located in Judea and Samaria of occupied Palestine 2000 years ago. Israel as a kingdom disappeared some 800 years before Jesus walked in that area during the occupation.
Har Megiddo/Armageddon still exists as a physical place in this material world, but is now under the control of temporal Israel re-created from the Bible after an absence of some 2800 years.

After all those years, the occupation of Judea and Samaria in Palestine is still an unresolved, violent, open wound in the Middle East and this material world.
American Zionist Christians want to see Armageddon come. They praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. It’s the DEVIL’s work, not God’s Will.

Revelation 16

Both religious and non-religious understand the implications of the word ‘Armageddon’ and the pictures it raises in the mind. It was derived from Har Megiddo, a physical place located in the occupied territories of Judea and Samaria in Palestine 2000 years ago. Israel had ceased to exist some 800 years earlier. before Jesus walked in the Occupied Territory.

Har Megiddo/Armageddon still exists as a physical place TODAY, except it is now located in temporal Israel, recreated from the Bible after an absence of some 2800 years.

It should at least be a wonder to all thinking people, how it came to be, that after 2000 years of a bloody human history of Wars and Conquest, Nations and Empires, Invasions and Resistance, Politics and Powers, the most explosive and divisive issue confronting this world TODAY, is STILL over the occupation of Judea and Samaria in Palestine?

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Temple Mount Extremists Making Inroads in Both Knesset and Israeli Government

DAY OF AWAKENING – DAVID vs GOLIATH vs ARMAGEDDON

On January 31, 1975 in my 31st Year, I quit my position printed on my Business Card reading, “National Marketing Representative, Mining Division, Dominion Engineering Works ltd. of Montreal, without having secured another Position. DEW was so big, they poured steel in their metal foundry. I was hired a year earlier to sell Ball Mills to Mining Industries, essential in separating the desired mineral from the rock on a massive conveyor belt scale. They were VERY EXPENSIVE costing over $100,000 in 1974 Dollars.

I soon realized I was misled about the Position. It was nothing like the Title on my DEW Business Card. I learned a Canadian or American Mining company would not open a new Mine in CanaDa when the cost of Labour was $30/hr + in salary and Benefits to operate, not including the cost of the necessary expensive equipment to start a new Mine. This was before US-CanaDa Free Trade, NAFTA – North American Free Trade, and Globalization of the Economy. It was much cheaper and much more profitable for Business to go to the 3rd World and pay the workers $2/hr with NO Benefits.

It turned out I was hired to prepare Sales Proposals and Production Scheduling within the Plant. I did not sign up for that! The Export Marketing Representative was flying all over the World. Business was booming for the 3rd World Countries.

Recognizing if this was happening in such a primary manufacturing industry, other manufacturing industries would go the same route causing great disruptions in our system.

I hated the job and it showed by my lack of interest and quit!

The next Day, February 1, 1975 was an extra-ordinary, extra special Day for me. To use the commonly known phrase, It was to my great surprise and awesome wonder I was “BORN AGAIN” that Day by the Spirit. To me, it was a clear delineation in my personal Life BC and AD. I didn’t know it then but now I know God chose me to be one of God’s Chosen in these Times. The Chosen People of ancient Biblical History are dead and gone. The Living God is choosing People all over the World to be effective Representatives in Today’s World.

Though my body is 78, Spiritually for me, I live in the Year of the Lord 37 AD learning the Ways of The Christ Spirit for these Days, while the World of Business operates in this Year of The Lord 2022.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 1

I was born May 21, 1944, making me a Gemini according to the Flesh, but born again February 1, 1975 making me Aquarius according to the Spirit. Up to that Day I was like the majority of the People. Self-seeking, materialistic, earth bound. Sexual fantasies, money and things pulled my strings.

I never thought about God. I made no room or Time for God in my Life, in my thoughts, in my Reality. God did not exist to me in my self-centred life. I did not go to church and the only time I talked with believers was when Jehovah Witnesses or Mormon Missionaries knocked on my door. Even so, I always had a decent respect for all others whose path in Life crossed with mine.

I was already upbeat since I was going to seal the deal to take possession of a 5 room Dream apartment in the heart of Montreal decorated by a French Canadian artist that was well laid out with large rooms and really beautifully furnished. Moving to Quebec City, he was turning over the apartment with artwork and furnishings for $1000. The rent in 1975 was $69 a month plus oil heat and hydro in downtown Montreal.

Arriving with a wealthy Jewish friend to make the final arrangements, after taking care of business, we got into an intense discussion of Society, Morality, Politics and Religion. In other words, the Human Condition, Life and Death, War and Peace on Planet Earth.

I was sitting back listening to them passionately go at it, when at a certain point, it was as if a veil was removed from my eyes, and with the sound of rushing water, within myself I felt and thought, ‘God! You’re alive! You exist! You really exist!’ In a Spiritual sense of another dimension, I came alive to God or God came alive to me that Day. From that moment on, I began communion with God and Christ in me. Because I did not understand exactly what was happening, I said nothing to the others who did not have the same experience.

I had experienced much in my life but never anything like this. At 24, in 1968 dollars I was making $25,000. This bought me the stuff that costs $215,000 in Today’s dollars. At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. John 14:20

What I didn’t know then, was there was a long period of time preparing the ground for me to Spiritually, Mentally, Emotionally and Socially accept the God of Abraham still Lives!

Part of that preparation I understood only with the benefit of hindsight can be seen here:

Over many years I moved to several neighbourhoods in Montreal, but could never get any apartment together, always remaining an unfinished work with no progress once I got comfortable. This apartment and furnishing was beautiful. My wealthy Jewish friend who lived in an expensive apartment on the slope of Mount Royal said he was jealous.

Later that evening, I was with another group of friends and did not tell them about the change now starting to take root within me. We were joined by another friend who was also a promising artist, not the one turning over his apartment to me earlier in the Day. Three months earlier, to encourage him, I asked him to do my portrait and paid him a deposit. He arrived with the finished work that evening not knowing what happened to me earlier.

While I was expecting a conventional portrait, I was surprised when he presented me with the portrait you see above. The image above is a reduced size photo copy of a full size photo copy of the original artwork. It was done in pencil and did not have the Canadian Coat of Arms on the Shield which I added later.

A thief stole the original drawing in a break & enter to my apartment and it is probably hanging on some wall in Ottawa.

Again I emphasize, no one knew the new feelings that came alive in me earlier that Day. It is said art is in the eye of the beholder and as I questioned the artist I said these words: “Dave, that’s a jock looking type of image. I wish my body looked that good.” Pointing to the shield I asked, “Is that a cowboy hat?” He answered, “No. It’s not that. That’s a shield and that’s a slingshot. You know. Like David and Goliath” Imagine my surprise and wonder as he laid those words on my ears, not knowing what was happening inside me. I didn’t fully know what was happening inside me. Examining it further, I noticed the the car, the symbol of the driving force of the economy and the license plate with the D between the legs. I asked Dave if the D was for his signature. He answered, “No. It’s not that. It could be Death. It could be Divinity. I have no idea.” Again, I had to wonder what all this meant and how could I make sense of it all? It was the sense of Timing that was amazing. Studying the drawing further, I reasoned since a headless body could not stand. To me it symbolized God of the Universe being the Head of the Body.

The automobile, the engine of the economy, is at a cliff with no place else to go, much as the Global economy has arrived at the point of stagnation requiring radical change. The bare veins of the Canadian Maple Leaf, the unfinished Canadian Mosaic, represents the theme in my earlier article ‘CanaDa.’

The head in the stump represents the earth bound man oblivious to what the Spirit is doing and the Signs of the Times.

At home later that night, I was experiencing the most sublime feelings of Peace, Joy, and Liberation. I was crying with Gratitude on the thoughts GOD IS, thinking, ‘God I don’t know what you’re doing with me, but whatever it is, keep on doing it. I love it! I love you! At the instant of those thoughts, a radio broadcast started with the words, “NOW that you’re a Christian, your work is just beginning.”

Even though it was a multi year struggle for me to finally have an apartment that would impress and make any visitor feel comfortable, I gave it up 7 months later on September 1, 1975, and with shoulder length hair, beard, and backpack on my back, entered the United States to discover more of God, and the Spirit of ’76.

The US Authorities would have never known about me had I not become highly visible at the 1976 Republican National Convention in Kansas City. The Secret Service called out of a compressed crowd of delirious Republicans looking up to the Secret Service restricted Mezzanine with the podium of the President set up expecting the President of the United States to be standing there any minute.

To my surprise and wonder, the SS Agent led me to the Podium of The President of The United States, questioning me in full view of the crowd below in the Lobby of the Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City. With my shoulder length hair, beard and football jersey, waving to all those Republicans below and the TV networks broadcasting live, it was an unusual image for anyone to be standing at The President’s podium as Americans were celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the 1776 Revolution.

Having hitch hiked through 45 States over 15 months, when I got to Kansas City, after the Republicans left town, I was a guest on a phone in Radio Talk show about a dozen times, was interviewed on TV, and The Kansas City Times published 2 newspaper reports on my presence in the City, the 1st on September 13, with a follow up on ALL SOULS DAY, November 2. Because of that high visibility, I was arrested as an ALIEN for deportation from Kansas City in December 1976 back to CanaDa.  (you are in the world, but not of the world – an ALIEN – John 17:14-16) I convinced the authorities to allow me to leave on my own without formal deportation, but having to report to US Customs before exiting the US and returning home to CanaDa.

It turned out to my good fortune and Blessing I met someone by chance driving to upper New York State not that far from home in Montreal. He had a spare ticket for the Eagles Concert at the Kemper Arena and we flew away right after the show. I have not visited the US since then.

Even though it is 42 years later, I am still trying to make sense of it all in a David vs Goliath struggle to prevent the coming Armageddon starting with Israel escalating in the explosive Middle East,in a world where people don’t pay attention, don’t care and don’t give a damn.

I have come full circle. That Dream apartment in 1975 was on Hotel De Ville Street in the heart of downtown Montreal close to Sherbrooke Street and St. Laurent Blvd., the dividing line between East and West.

The Executive Personnel Agency who always found me a better position at better pay everytime I was in the Job referred me for many excellent positions but because my Spiritual Awakening was the most important thing to happen to me in my Life, I talked about it during Job interviews. One person was so interested asking me many questions, I left that Interview thinking I was hired. Calling the Personnel Agency the next Day, my Contact asked, “WHAT HAPPENED?” “What do you mean, what happened? Didn’t I get the job, I asked?” No was direct. Asking what the man said, my Contact told me the Interviewer said these words, “I don’t know what that guy was high on, but I sure wish I had some!”

Today, I live on Hotel De Ville Street in downtown Hull and it’s still a Dream apartment. I’m paying $566/month for a large well laid out 1 bedroom downtown apartment, heated, with a parking space. Smaller apartments on my Block are now going for $1300/month with electric heat extra. It’s perfect for me, having so many reasons to thank God for something every Day. For transparency, I lived in this apartment for 2 years in 2006 before I thought of the connection with that Dream apartment I gave up on Hotel de Ville in Montreal in 1975. I thank God that DREAM apartment I gave up in 1975 was being saved for me by God.

In this Year of the Lord 2024, I have a Dream apartment costing $566/month to this Day, enabling me to survive with no stress as rents are a nightmare for so many people these Days, able to live on my Old Age pension of $1883/month.

The LORD IS my Shepherd. I shall not want. Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the Days of my Life and I will dwell in the House of The LORD forever.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the thieves, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; they don’t know what they are doing. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luke 23:33-34

Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

Matthew 27:38

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Isaiah 53:6-9

The LORD IS my Shepherd. I shall not want Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the Days of my Life and I will dwell in the House of The LORD forever.
