TRUTH IS THE FIRST CASUALTY OF WAR

I admire Chris Hedges. I see him as being like an Old Testament Prophet, pointing out the warning signs to a society going down the wrong path, to a people who do not listen or consider.

By his notable accomplishments, he speaks from a platform most of us will never reach in our lifetimes. This prominence among the people gives him some protection from arbitrary government actions to silence him – so far.

His latest warnings and admonitions about what the POWER is doing in our Democracy, that will last only as long as there is a vigilant, aware citizenry, should be heeded by all concerned about our common Future and well being.

His latest article is named ‘THE DEATH OF TRUTH.’ As I read it, even though it is 5 pages long, I see it as modern day version reflecting the words of the Old Testament Prophet Isaiah recorded 2600 years ago, and posted at the bottom of this article. Not much has changed in all that time gone by.

In my view, these are key perceptions from Chris Hedge’s report:

“Assange, Manning and WikiLeaks, by making public in 2010 half a million internal documents from the Pentagon and the State Department, along with the 2007 video of U.S. helicopter pilots nonchalantly gunning down Iraqi civilians, including children, and two Reuters journalists, effectively exposed the empire’s hypocrisy, indiscriminate violence and its use of torture, lies, bribery and crude tactics of intimidation. WikiLeaks shone a spotlight into the inner workings of empire—the most important role of a press—and for this it has become empire’s prey. Those around the globe with the computer skills to search out the secrets of empire are now those whom empire fears most. If we lose this battle, if these rebels are defeated, it means the dark night of corporate totalitarianism. If we win, if the corporate state is unmasked, it can be destroyed.”

With all the violent War movies and all the blood and gore in the crime shows on TV, and all the porn the underage can see on the Internet, YouTube wants to protect me from seeing the horrors of War as it actually happened! It defies Common Sense.

Everything is being recorded these days, and it is this video hidden from the American Public clearly demonstrating the horrors of War the American people pay for without question, that made Wikileaks a “Terrorist” to those Authorities who want to keep their own evil deeds under wraps and out of the Public Eye.

As bad as the Boston Marathon murders were in the loss of innocent lives, and the 24/7 patriotic pap fed to Americans by the media, what about this loss of innocent life at the hands of Americans? Does the Biblical injunction ‘what you sow, so shall you reap’ not apply to Americans and other Nations?

It has become a hunt not for actual terrorists but a hunt for all those with the ability to expose the mounting crimes of the power elite.”

Assange sought asylum in the Ecuadorean Embassy after exhausting his fight to avoid extradition from the United Kingdom to Sweden. He and his lawyers say that an extradition to Sweden would mean an extradition to the U.S. If Sweden refused to comply with U.S demands for Assange, kidnapping, or “extraordinary rendition,” would remain an option for Washington.

Kidnapping was given legal cover by a 1989 memorandum issued by the Justice Department stating that “the FBI may use its statutory authority to investigate and arrest individuals for violating United States law, even if the FBI’s actions contravene customary international law” and that an “arrest that is inconsistent with international or foreign law does not violate the Fourth Amendment.” This is a stunning example of the security and surveillance state’s Orwellian doublespeak. The persecution of Assange and WikiLeaks and the practice of extraordinary rendition embody the shredding of the Fourth Amendment, which was designed to protect us from unreasonable searches and seizures and requires any warrant to be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause.”

Do you remember the US going to the United Nations Security Council with all that false and misleading information asking for “permission” to invade Iraq? The UN is the repository of Internationl Law, governing the rules of behaviour among Nations. Each Member State is Sovereign in writing and applying their own National Laws.

The UN is only as good as it’s Member States. The US claims to always hold the highest moral and legal ground among all Nations of this earth. What example did the US set for others when it defied the UN in refusing to sanction the invasion of Iraq, but did it anyway? This was contrary to the UN and International Law? Who but God can bring the US to Court?

When the most powerful Nation can violate International Law with impunity, logically thinking people will know, under the thin veneer we call Civilization, lurks the Law of the Jungle. It is assuredly breaking through with that kind of behaviour by the ruling elite! They don’t want to be exposed. Kill the messenger is the US response to Julian Assuage.

In a Democracy, the people generally get the government they deserve. CPAC does not reveal to the People what their government is doing behind the scenes. The POWER does not want their People to know how double dealing they can be in the power centres of this world they want to control. This is an example from Chris’s report on the value of Wikileaks contribution to transparency;

“In 1975 Kissinger during a conversation with the U.S. ambassador to Turkey and two Turkish and Cypriot diplomats assured his hosts that he could work around an official arms embargo then in effect. He is quoted in the documents as saying: “Before the Freedom of Information Act, I used to say at meetings, ‘The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.’ [laughter] But since the Freedom of Information Act, I’m afraid to say things like that.”

The documents, along with detailing collaborations with the military dictatorships in Spain and Greece, show that Washington created a torture exemption to allow the military government in Brazil to receive U.S. aid.”

When the peaceful ’79 Iranian Revolution replaced the American imposed proxy Dictatorship of the Shah, the lessor thrones the British created in the Middle East thought they might be next. Even though the American/Shah’s regime was a Dictatorship as brutal as any the Americans say they are against, he followed US Dictates so he was a good for the Americans Dictator. His throne did have some historical legitimacy, going all the way back to the Persian Empire as compared to those Royal Oil Sheikdoms the British created after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, to serve as proxies for British interests.

The problem for the Americans was how to nip that Peaceful Iranian Revolution in the bud? Peaceful Revolutions would put the International Arms dealers out of business. They could not tolerate Peaceful Revolutions. The Truth is the US is the biggest arms dealer the world has ever produced. There is a great conflict of interest in maintaining that position. Conflicts must be created overtly or covertly.

When he was useful to British/American interests, Saddam was the only one in the position to put the boots on the ground as the West’s proxy army in starting the brutal 8 year war to distract the Iranians from exporting their Peaceful Revolution. The US and the West financed Iraq in waging that war ending in a stalemate after 1,000,000 deaths on both sides.

While I have no proof, my gut tells me the West promised Saddam the return of Kuwait, the 13th Province the British carved out of Iraq and renamed Kuwait, for putting Iraqi lives in harms way for the American interest. I think Saddam was double-crossed and went into Kuwait anyway like the US invaded Iraq without UN sanction. The rest is history.

“Assange said he sees WikiLeaks’ primary role as giving a voice to the victims of U.S. wars and proxy wars by using leaked documents to tell their stories. The release of the Afghan and Iraq War Logs, he said, disclosed the extent of civilian death and suffering, and the plethora of lies told by the Pentagon and the state to conceal the human toll. The logs, Assange said, also unmasked the bankruptcy of the traditional press and its obsequious service as war propagandists.”

In the final analysis, as Chris says, if the mainstream media do not stand up for Julian Assuange and Bradley Manning, there will no Democratic Freedom of the Press remaining in the Fascist Dictatorship surreptitiously usurping Democracy as we have known it.

I read in The Jerusalem Post this week, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the Shas spiritual leader, called on followers to ask God to wipe out “evil ones who threaten Israel.” The Shas are a part of the Netanyahu Zionist coalition regime in Israel.

Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef implored God to “wipe out and destroy” Iran and Hezbollah during his weekly sermon on Saturday night.

This is the second time in a row in which Yosef has spoken about the threat of Iran’s nuclear program during his post-Shabbat Torah lesson.

It follows a briefing he was given by National Security Adviser Yaakov Amidror on the Iranian issue 10 days ago, which was seen as part of an effort from the Prime Minister’s Office to obtain the rabbi’s support for the government’s position on the matter.

Speaking on Saturday night, Yosef talked about the tradition on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana, of eating various fruits and vegetables as positive portents for the year ahead.

“When we make the blessing on the dates that ‘our enemies and haters should be ended’ we should have in mind the Iranian regime, those evil people who threaten Israel,” the rabbi said.

“Do good, God, wipe them out, kill them,” he entreated, to which the assembled crowd answered “amen.”

If this is what Israelis are being indoctrinated with these Days, kiss Peace in the Middle East goodbye and welcome World War III/Armageddon. No Nation on Earth will be immune from the consequences.

It brought to mind this article which appeared in The Jerusalem Post, July 2, 2009. At the Time, I thought it was a significant article on the attitudes within the Israeli Zionist regime by government Ministers. I’m glad I copied and saved it since the original Jerusalem Post link no longer exists.

Those attitudes are even more entrenched among the Zionists in Israel than ever before. Just read the comments to any article in The Jerusalem Post concerning Palestinians and Iran and you will see an Israeli-centred view of Arabs with whom they must live in Peace in terms, descriptions and characterizations that equal the worst terms the Nazis used to describe Jews in another place and Time. Has the lesson not only been forgotten, but never learned?

‘Ship of Fools’

So when exactly did we go nuts? With depressing regularity, our leaders say the dumbest, most vile things. And we, the public, look up at this bloated, cacophonous monstrosity of a government and think, “Everything is OK.”

Take our public security minister, for example. This June, while reviewing antidrug operations in southern Tel Aviv, Yitzhak Aharonovitch praised an undercover cop for his grungy appearance, remarking that he looked an “Araboush.” Now for those who don’t speak bigot, Araboush is an anti-Arab epithet on par with, say, Jewboy or Hymie. In any sane Western democracy, an official caught using such language could kiss his career good-bye. But not so here.

When the media called out Aharonovitch for the slur, all he had to do was apologize, then assure us that the comment did not represent his worldview. And we moved on because no one who belongs to Yisrael Beiteinu could possibly be racist, right? I mean, this is the same party that sought to institute loyalty oaths, ban Israeli Arab political factions and prohibit commemoration of the nakba – the defeat and dispossession of the Arab community during the War of Independence.

Avigdor Lieberman, leader of Yisrael Beiteinu, has even suggested disenfranchising Israeli Arabs by handing over their towns to a future Palestine. Oh, and there was that stray comment about bombing the Aswan Dam in Egypt.

Again, in a normal Israel, Lieberman would be left to rant on a soapbox next to the meat-is-murder wackos and the Raelians. But what do we do with such a dangerous demagogue? Make him foreign minister, of course! For the past couple of months, Lieberman has been serving as our voice abroad. Well, sort of. Lieberman is, in fact, so toxic that Defense Minister Ehud Barak and President Shimon Peres have to pick up much of the diplomatic slack.

WHAT’S STRANGE is the fact that few people here seem troubled by this. Maybe it’s because we expect so little of our politicians that nothing shocks us anymore. After all, we do have a housing minister who backs Jim Crow-style segregation.

Lecturing the Israel Bar Association earlier this month, Housing Minister Ariel Attias said that he sees it as his duty to keep Arabs out of Jewish communities in the North. Mixed towns are dangerous, he said: “Look at what happened in Acre.” Yes, let’s look at what happened in Acre. Last Yom Kippur eve, a pack of youths attacked an Arab motorist after he had driven into a mostly Jewish neighborhood. The assault then sparked an intercommunal riot that engulfed the city.

None of this, though, matters to Attias. He doesn’t care about healing wounds; he just wants the Arabs hemmed in and out of sight. And we treat Attias like he only speaks for himself, like what he does is happening on the moon

Of course, not every minister in the government is prejudiced; some are just idiots. A case in point is Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz. He actually thinks that the future of Zion can be secured by changing Arabic place names on highway signs.

Then there is Yossi Peled. This minister-without-portfolio suggests that we boycott US defense contractors and sell arms to nations not on the White House’s BFF list to register our displeasure with Barack Obama’s Mideast policies.

Apparently, Peled wants Israel to risk $3 billion a year in foreign aid, lucrative defense projects with the US and superpower backing at the UN Security Council to keep on building in the settlements.

A sign of still deeper dysfunction, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently told the Americans that he’d remove illegal outposts if the US took a harder line on Iran. In other words, Bibi would enforce our own laws only if first paid a political bribe.

NOW, TO be fair, we’ve had crummy ministers before. The Bibi government is just the reductio ad absurdum of our political system – a fractured partyocracy that panders to ideological sectors, not real communities.

See, there’s no such thing as an Israeli citizen. There are just haredi voters, secular voters, Arab voters, etc., and we all vote as if no one else existed in the country. Likewise, the politicians act as if they were responsible to no one but their parties.

Accordingly, the system encourages behavior that borders on madness as even the center must pay homage to the radicals. Indeed, if Netanyahu were to fire Lieberman, Attias and Co., their parties would bring down his government.

The only way to end this farce is through regional representation. By dividing the country into voter districts, we can make each and every Knesset member beholden to the people. A first-past-the-poll system in each district would likewise temper extremist positions as assorted factions would need to band together to win.

Unfortunately, our current crop of “public servants” has no interest in fixing the status quo. So to make a change, we will need to rally from the bottom up. If we don’t, we may wake up one day to find a country not worth defending.

REVELATION: GLOBAL WARMING – FACT OR FICTION? TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES?

The sweltering heatwave of the last few weeks helped make this year the hottest on record so far, officials revealed. The last 12 months also have been the warmest in the continental United States since modern record-keeping began in 1895, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Do wild weather, heat waves, and torrential rains add up to climate change? As a Canadian resident of the Great White North, I have noticed the last few Winters have brought less snow and milder temperatures than I can remember in my 69 years. This was more noticeable to me since I drive for a living. I like that although the skiers may not. If current trends continue, CanaDa may be in the best position possible among all the Nations, with a temperate climate change on the way that may open up our Northern Land to settlement and development. CanaDa has one of the biggest, uninhabited, undeveloped frontiers in all the world. The debate continues whether Global Warming or Climate Change is a totally natural phenomenon or does the industrial machine and human activity exacerbate the situation? Environmental Science is only now finding more and more evidence and data to support the notion humanity may be the author of it’s own demise.

Chris Hedges: Corporate Capitalism Will Quite Literally Kill Us

Long before CanaDa and the industrial machine existed, when our rivers, lakes and streams were still crystal clear, my personal reference Bible was printed in 1855. The references from Revelation juxtaposed with the images come from that 1855 Book long before Environmental Science existed. It is the same edition on which Presidents Lincoln & Obama took their Oath of Office. The imagery in the Bible’s Book of Revelation only the wilfully blind could dismiss out of hand without thinking, weighing and considering. We have all seen the disturbing images of dead fish in the toxic chemical brew dumped in our lakes and rivers by the industrial machine to reduce the cost as if there is no decent respect for posterity. We all know this is going on, but for the love of money and the things it buys, it is allowed to continue for jobs. We do this clinging to the delusion we are building a better world and Future for our children but the world is heading in the opposite direction.

And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died;……and the third part of the waters became wormwood; Revelation 8:9-11

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood Revelation 8:8

The writer of the Revelation 2000 years ago had no concept of an oil drilling rig as he saw the vision, and with the language of the Time it seems logical and reasonable he would describe what he saw as a great mountain burning with fire falling into the sea. He would not have been aware of the detergents that turned the black oil red so it would appear as blood to him.

The Deepwater Horizon oil rig was the site of one of the worst environmental disasters in US history. In a detailed assessment of the oil spill, researchers led by a team from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) have determined that the blown-out Macondo well spewed oil at a rate of about 57,000 barrels a day, totaling nearly 5 million barrels of oil released from the well between April 20 and July 15, 2010, when the leak was capped. In addition, the well released some 100 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas.

A new study of dolphins living close to the site the BP Deepwater Horizon catastrophe two years ago – has established serious health problems afflicting the marine mammals. The report, commissioned by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration [NOAA], found that many of the 32 dolphins studied were underweight, anaemic and suffering from lung and liver disease, while nearly half had low levels of a hormone that helps the mammals deal with stress as well as regulating their metabolism and immune systems.

As the Chief Stewards of CanaDa, it falls within your responsibilities and influence to be aware of the Prophetic information in my latest article: REVELATION: GLOBAL WARMING – FACT OR FICTION? TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES? The Revelation is being revealed Day by Day.

With the Global economy teetering on the verge of toppling over like the inverse pyramid in the Star of David, and the possibility of WWIII/Armageddon starting in the Middle East being revealed Day by Day, Christ will come as a thief in the night just when the people least expect it as indicated in Revelation 16.

While the devil and his earthly agents want to see Armageddon come, Revelation 16 clearly indicates it is not God leading the world to that catastrophic event, but the Pride of Power.
